VA Hatchery Soccer

Here are some pictures from a friendly game of soccer between our Ag Forte – Virginia Hatchery Hatch crew and the Service Room workers last week.

The two ladies in the chairs are Jessica Spangler and Peggy Puffenbarger who came out to cheer the guys on as well as Lyubov Desiatnikov, the hatchery manager, and the office administration, Wilma Dickenson in the grassy area.

From left to right:  Kneeling: Kelvin Rodriguez, Isaias Santana, Chayanne Fuentes, Jose Garcia, Jose Chicas, Neddy Soto Martinez.  Standing: Luis Curbelo Lugo, Narciso Flores, Cesar Cabrera, Henry Valderramos, Benny Armstrong, Kahlil Vargas, Jose Molina, Harry Mendez, Johny Ventura Naves, Oscar Moradel Lopez.VA_group

Some context from Susan Mathias, HR Generalist for Ag Forte VA:

Basically, these guys work in our hatch crew and service room and they also are our usual volunteers to work on Wednesdays and Saturdays helping in the Egg Department with egg deliveries. Some of them are regular players in local leagues, and they started talking about a friendly competition between the two departments. They finally set a day/time after work on Wednesday at a local park and they really had a fun time. They played non-stop for two hours and had a blast. They plan to do this after hours together again throughout the summer.  We are very blessed to have a closeness between our employees in the hatchery as they often hang out together on weekends and have even planned a weekend trip to the beach this summer together!  We also have a group that is starting to do some local runs together through VA Momentum which sponsors running events all year long and I am part of that group.

Thank you Susan for the pictures and information! Awesome to see this kind of connection with the Virginia crew.

Julie’s Farewell

Julie Rice, MinnWest Technology Campus Project Coordinator, celebrated her time at MinnWest with her team and a Best Wishes cake. Her last day was April 15th. Julie left the position because she and her boyfriend recently purchased a business in Holmes City, MN to fix up and run. Click HERE to watch a short video (3 years old) featured by ABC’s On the Road with Jason Davis about the business. Farewell and good luck Julie!

Jason’s Farewell

Last Friday was Jason Hagemeyer’s last day with PALS. Pictured below is his going away cake with his warehouse manager, Erik Eystad. He has been with PALS for almost 15 years and has recently taken a new opportunity with BVS. Take care Jason!

Dave’s Dark Side Mystery

If you remember from the last update, Dave Dykshoorn, NTE Business Development Systems Supervisor, was trying to uncover what mysterious person (or people) had left a 2′ plush Darth Vader on his desk while he was gone. It looks like the culprit has struck again! This time leaving an equally sinister stuffed toy of Kylo Ren, villain from the latest Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The mystery continues to unfold…

Turkey Recipes & Tips!

 Turkey Cutlets with Rhubarb Chutney

Do the words Chutney and Cutlets make this recipe sound overly fancy? Either way, looks pretty solid. Rhubarb is always a good time!
