December Update

The holiday spirit has arrived throughout the organization!  Thank you to everyone who sent in photos of their team festivities, from decorating parties to team lunches and more.  It’s fun to see the celebrations and share in the joy of giving during this season.

Turkey Valley Farms

The team at Turkey Valley Farms recently held their end of the year Staff Appreciation party where they enjoyed some turkey with all the fixings and handed out frozen turkeys from TVF to employees.

Select Genetics

Iowa

The Select Genetics | Osceola hatchery participated in a fun team building project in the community with a wreath making contest hosted by a local flower shop.  The team put their creative minds together and worked as a team to come up with a beautiful and elegant wreath.  They received the People’s Choice Award in the business category and raised $51.00 to be donated to the local food pantry!

In addition to the teambuilding, the Select Genetics | Osceola team held their holiday lunch the beginning of December with a delicious meal catered in by a local catering service.

Missouri

Select Genetics | Missouri Transportation Driver, Jose Salsa, participated in a Christmas parade in early December, decorating the truck for the season!

The Select Genetics | Missouri office held their annual animal welfare training and included a few team building activities to encourage some out-of-the-box thinking.

North Carolina | Wadesboro

The Select Genetics | Wadesboro employees have been celebrating the season with a Christmas tree in the field office and preparing Christmas gifts to distribute to children of their employees. They also were surprised by a vendor dressed as Santa Claus delivering a new tractor that was recently purchased.

Virginia

The Select Genetics | Harrisonburg hatchery handed out gifts for the children of employee’s last week.

Nova-Tech Engineering

As a Christmas gift and in recognition of team members hard work over the past year, Nova-Tech Engineering handed out turkeys to their team members last week.  Thank you to Nova-Tech for capturing some pictures of this event!  Turkeys were also handed out to employees at LSI, FSE/WPF, PALS, and MinnWest.

Life-Science Innovations

The LSI Fun Committee hosted the LSI Christmas Lunch last week with a catered meal and fun door prizes for everyone!  This was also the day the Accounting Department planned their ugly Christmas sweater contest so we grabbed a picture of that crazy looking crew too.

Retirement

Congratulations to Pablo Maldonado, Turlock Hatchery Maintenance, on his retirement from Select Genetics | Turlock!  Pablo started at the hatchery shortly after it was acquired by Select Genetics but had also previously worked there with the previous company.  The Turlock crew celebrated Pablo with a catered retirement lunch combined with their Thanksgiving lunch and a turkey cake.  We wish Pablo all the best in his retirement!
