FSE Purpose & Values

The Farm Service Elevator team has been working hard on defining their purpose and values over the past few months.  On Wednesday, June 16th, they unveiled the new FSE Purpose & Values to the team and enjoyed a grill out!

We supply safe, quality feed to provide opportunities for the success of our team members and customers.

COE visits Osceola

Select Genetics welcomed students from the Midwest Poultry Consortium’s Center of Excellence (COE) program on June 24th. Select Genetics is a sponsor of the Midwest Poultry Consortium and has helped in their efforts to recruit and train students into the poultry industry. This summer COE was hosted at Iowa State University and students taking the Breeder Flock and Hatchery Management course were able to tour the Select Genetics Osceola Hatchery. The COE program has served as the virtual poultry science department for the midwestern land grants since 1996. The program allows students to earn up to 18 credits in poultry focused courses not otherwise available at their home university. The Breeder Flock and Hatchery Management course is taught by Ron Kean (University of Wisconsin); Sally Noll (University of Minnesota) and Mike Wineland (North Carolina State University).

Other fun facts for anyone who is not aware of Select Genetics’ participation with COE: Ben Wileman is partially responsible for the recruitment of the students hosted by Osceola; he is a regular participant in our education events and was a panelist in a major 2021 class recruitment event; Select Genetics has hosted COE interns before (COE students take classes for the first 6 weeks of the summer and then move into internships with our sponsors to solidify what they learned).

Sponsoring 4-H Youth

The Select Genetics Missouri Maintenance team recently sponsored a 4-H group for the Lawrence County Youth Fair.  It was a great opportunity to support youth interested in agriculture!

Grilling Season

With summer and warm weather comes grilling season in Minnesota!  Several locations have been firing up their grills for team members to enjoy the weather and have a chance to connect with their coworkers.

We are excited to introduce Brian Waller, HR Operations Manager, who joined the LSI Shared Services team the beginning of June!  In his role as HR Operations Manager for LSI, Brian is responsible for leading and supporting our Payroll, Compensation and Benefits areas at LSI and our family of companies. He brings to us over 20 years of experience in a variety of areas including payroll processing, benefits management, HR systems and compensation analysis.
