Great job Michelle Behl

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate Dr. Michelle Behl in recently earning the B.S. Pomeroy Award at the 68th North Central Avian Disease Conference. This is awarded to the person with the best PhD or Masters student presentation. Michelle works for our newly formed Select Genetics in the role as Hatchery Technical Specialist. She lives in Spicer, MN with her husband John and her daughters Adri and Abby.

Congrats Keith Burger

Attached is a picture of Keith Burger, General Manager of Turkey Valley Farms, receiving the Ranelius Award from the MTGA for his contribution to the turkey industry. Chris Huisinga, General Sales Manager of Select Genetics is pictured next to Keith, filling in for the past president to present the award.

The Ranelius Award is the most prestigious honor given by the MTGA. It signifies leadership and dedication to the industry based on contributions made to enhance Minnesota’s turkey industry.

The Ranelius Award is named for Sven Ranelius, a founding father of the MTGA, often described as a quiet, unselfish person who was very dedicated to the turkey industry in Minnesota. Nominees are evaluated on two central criteria: their contribution to the industry over a period of time; and the quality of that contribution.

Select Genetics (Ag Forte/WPC) Wedding

On March 9th Eric Lozano, Farm Manager of Reike breeder farm for Select Genetics, got Married to Alicia Munoz who also works for Select Genetics at the Christianson growout farm. Eric and Alicia were together 15 years before they officially tied the knot. Eric says that it “Feels Good!” to finally get married. Congrats you two!

Nova-Tech Engineering Recruitment Update:

⇒  You’ll notice a couple of new contacts listed for positions open at Nova-Tech Engineering.  A big welcome to Angela ‘Angie’ Koosman, new HR Strategic Business Partner!  She started while I was out on a little spring break vacation and has already hit the ground running to keep the pace with NTE’s continued growth.  Angie comes with previous manufacturing-engineering industry background, so we’ve entrusted her to jump right into leading the efforts within those departments.

Additionally, Julie Daugherty, Engineering Department Employee Development Specialist, will be the main point of contact for Engineering Co-Op openings.  If you know of any college students pursuing an engineering career, please contact her with your referrals!
