Breeder Management Course

Select Genetics co-hosted a Breeder Management Course with Aviagen Turkeys this past July, held in Springfield, MO.  Several Select Genetics employees assisted with presentations and hands-on learning throughout the four day course and practical sessions were held on the Select Genetics Aurora Farm. Karen Festival

Select Genetics | Minnesota helped to sponsor a Karen Festival on September 2nd along with the Karen community.  The festival included soccer, volleyball for boys and girls, and cane ball.  Congratulations to the team from Highland Farm who took first place in the volleyball tournament!  Approximately 200+ people were in attendance for this fun event.

Friday on Main | Raeford

The Select Genetics | Raeford division helped the Downtown Raeford Business Association to sponsor the annual Friday on Main concert series on September 8th.  The event included live music, free activities for children, and an influx of vendors and food trucks in downtown Raeford. Kevin Reeves, Raeford Division Manager said, “The street fair was a great activity for Select Genetics | Raeford to work with and support other Raeford and Hoke County businesses. Also, it was a great opportunity to spread the word about Select Genetics and the turkey breeder business.” Helping at the Select Genetics tent were Jennifer Borden, Senior HR Generalist; Sandra Walker, HR Coordinator; Jimmy Maxwell, Breeder Serviceman; Wade Pittman, Farm Maintenance Technician; and Kevin Reeves, Raeford Division Manager.

Farm Service Elevator | Award

Congratulations to Farm Service Elevator on being named the runner-up for Best Grain Elevator in the West Central Tribune’s Best of the Best 2023! Each year the local newspaper, the West Central Tribune, holds a Best of the Best promotion to allow community members an opportunity to vote for their favorite places, people and things. The promotion is open for voting for a month and then results are tabulated and announced the end of July.
