FFA Tours
The Willmar FFA chapter has been touring several companies throughout our organization to give students an idea of what opportunities are available in the area. The students learned about our strengths-based culture from Bethany Wallace on Friday, November 19th followed by tours of Farm Service Elevator, PALS, and the Select Genetics truck shop on Monday, November 22nd and Tuesday, November 23rd. Thank you to everyone who took the time to tour the students, introduce them to the agriculture industry and a provide a glimpse into our organization!
Safety Training
Several locations have been busy getting employees trained or recertified with CPR & First Aid the past few weeks. Life-Science Innovations, PALS, Farm Service Elevator, and Nova-Tech Engineering all had employees participate in the 6-hour course so they can be prepared to assist during an emergency situation.
HR Summit
Each year Life-Science Innovations hosts an HR Summit, inviting HR professionals from Nova-Tech Engineering, Turkey Valley Farms and Select Genetics to Willmar to learn more on hot topics in the HR industry, training on supporting our employees and team members, and personal development sessions. This year the Summit was held the end of October and there was a great turnout, with everyone maximizing the 3 days to connect and grow together!

LSI HR Team Update
- Jeanna O’Neill’s last day with LSI Shared Services was Friday, November 5th. Over the past 8 years Jeanna has worn many hats, most recently that of HR Business Partner for PALS, WPF and FSE. On Monday, November 8th, Jeanna started her next adventure within the organization, supporting Nova-Tech Engineering as a Senior HR Generalist. We were sad to see Jeanna leave LSI but are excited for her to be able to utilize her strengths and continue to grow within our organization!
- Jami Halliday has stepped into a newly developed role as HR Strategic Business Partner for LSI, PALS, WPF, FSE and MinnWest. Jami has been supporting LSI and MinnWest employees over the past few years and will now get the opportunity to support additional companies with the transition of Jeanna to Nova-Tech Engineering.
- Jackie Shields joined the LSI Shared Services HR team on Monday, October 25th as the new HRIS Analyst. She will be responsible for optimizing and administering the HRIS databases.
