401(k) Electronic Delivery

Beginning in January 2022, Empower Retirement, our 401(k) and retirement provider, will be enhancing their electronic delivery services of plan notices and documents.  In 2020, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) modernized the rules on electronic delivery of plan documents to participants.  The new safe harbor regulation allows plans (like Empower) to use participant’s personal email addresses to deliver plan notices or documents.  Empower will be providing an advance notice via U.S. mail to all participants who have an email address on file to notify them of the change. The notice will also provide participants the option to elect to receive plan notices and documents via regular mail.

IRS Max Contributions for 2022

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently announced increased retirement plan contribution limits for 2022.  The maximum amount you can contribute to you retirement plan is $20,500.  The age 50 catch-up contribution remains the same at $6,500.  If you are interested in making changes to your retirement plan contributions you can log-in to your account at www.empower-retirement.com/participant.

Review your paycheck

The start of the new year means the benefits you elected during open enrollment in November are now in effect. The start of the year is a great time to review your pay stub to ensure the deductions you elected are correct.  If you notice something that is different, please notify Angela Koosman by January 14th to review elections.  Any changes received after January14th may not be able to be made.

New Year, New Cards?

For 2022, all enrolled members in Medical insurance will be receiving new ID cards for 2022.

       

For Eye Med and Delta Dental, before destroying your cards consider the following questions:

• Did I make a change to my dental or eye coverage?
• Is this my first time enrolling in dental or eye plans?

If you answered NO to the above, hold on to your current card! Unless you have made a plan change, you can use your 2021 cards.

If you answered YES to one of the above questions, you should expect to receive your new dental and Eye Med cards by mid-January (if you have not already received them).  Once you have received the new cards you can destroy your 2021 cards.

Retirement

Congratulations to Marlin Beliveau, Outside Sales for Willmar Poultry Farms, on his retirement!  Marlin recently celebrated 35 years with our organization.  Over the years he built many strong relationships with our customers and his knowledge and experience of the industry will certainly be missed.  Good luck on your new adventure Marlin!
