Turkey Time Travel

Back in Time

Hello all. We missed a couple things in the past weeks. Since it is the iconic year of 2015 where Back to the Future’s Doc Brown and Marty McFly went into the future from 1985, let’s take the opportunity to get into the DeLorean time machine, fire up the flux capacitor and travel back in time to shed light on some events we passed over.

Betty Strohfus

Last week the Nation collectively celebrated our veterans on Nov 11th. We would like to take a quick moment to honor the veterans that we have here at LSI and Affiliates. Thank you for your service! We know, one line of bold text does not hardly due any justice or proper honors for some of the most brave and selfless people in our country, but hopefully it is something. Please, If you have a co-worker that you know has served our country, give them an extra high five, a pat on the back or a super awkward, unexpected hug.

Speaking of veterans, on September 30, 2015 an amazing woman named Betty Strohfus spoke in the Life-Science Auditorium in Willmar, MN. Betty Strohfus is a 95 year old WWII veteran and a trailblazing Women AirForce Service Pilot (WASP). She learned to fly, serving our country during a time when women were discouraged from both military service and pursuit of an unconventional career. Betty was a blast to listen to. It was clear that she has a zest for life and truly had quite a story to tell! Pictured below is Joanna Schrupp (MinnWest Technology Campus Admin) with Betty Strohfus herself. If you want to find out more information click this link to check out her presentation or click here to read her article in the West Central Tribune.

Stay N Play Trick-Or-Treat

Way back on Friday Oct. 30th  the Stay N Play (Daycare on the MinnWest Technology Campus) kids went trick-or-treating at the Life Center Gym. We provided buckets of candy for people to hand out to the kids. Samantha Kloster’s (LSI Accountant) little boy Manny was present and dressed up as a bulldozer! Samantha created the costume herself. Nice job! Pictures below:

Turkey Recipes & Tips!

Thanksgiving is next week! Lately one of our favorite Thanksgiving side dishes, next to the infamous green bean casserole, has been the Creamy Corn Casserole. If you actually know what this dish is named or have a more creative one, PLEASE let us know. And we know, this is not a turkey recipe, but it IS related! We also know that you are not supposed to start a sentence with a conjunction, but hey, God did it; “And God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” – Genesis 1.
