Onboarding Pilot Program Update:

Matt Baumgartner recently completed a pilot onboarding program introducing him to the industry, our team and the variety of businesses across our group of companies. The goal was to improve our onboarding process by providing candidates a firsthand experience through which they could participate in the selection of their initial assignment. We also wanted to identify where the individual’s strengths and interests could best be utilized in the company.

Rick VanderSpek said: “Credit goes to Matt and the Org Development team who executed a plan that ultimately delivered a collaborative effort that extended across the entire organization. Our end goal was to find the right person for the right job. Thank you to everyone who had an impact on this process and took the time to show Matt around and explain all the awesome things that we do together!”

The program yielded input and ideas from a number of people, which ultimately identified an area that would best apply Matt’s interests and skill in building relationships through improved communication with customers. In Matt’s new role of Supply Chain Analyst he will improve and manage the data and communication flow from customers – to planning – to our customer service reps. His first assignment is to analyze our customer relations process. Matt will report directly to Corey Nelson who joins in the challenge to unlock the potential of our MTech software and fully integrate this with our internal process and data systems. Congratulations Matt on your new role!

“My husband and I would like to thank all the employees who donated their PTO days to me during Jim’s recovery. I’d also like to thank those who planned on donating their PTO time to me.  It was a huge weight off my shoulders, at a very scary time, to know that I didn’t have to worry about my wages.

Jim has just reached the 3 month mark after the accident and he is doing amazingly well. Jim returned to work on 3/21/16 working part-time with restrictions. He is very happy to be doing normal things again.

Thanks so much for your prayers, your kind words and actions. I’m very fortunate to be working in a company where my co-workers are my friends. I really appreciate everything you all did for us!!!”

Mystery of the Sith

Dave Dykshoorn, NTE Business Development Systems Supervisor, is trying to uncover a mystery. Here he is reporting on the situation:

“Someone planted a 2’ tall Plush Darth Vader on my desk while I was gone last week.  I have no idea who to thank, and no one up here seems to remember who did it.  But… besides that he fits well beside my Lego super star destroyer, and “Walking the AT-AT” poster, so thank for whomever the mystery gift giver is.”

Dave suspects he has been influenced by the Dark side ever since, having trouble staying focused. Perhaps playing tricks with his mind to make sure he focus on the culprit/gift giver’s projects first?
