HR Department Update

An update about our HR Department: Welcome, Tim Krieg!

TimKYou probably noticed our HR Director position posted a few months back for LSI. We now have both a temporary solution and a long-term plan to fill this role internally. Effective June 1st, Tim Krieg joined our organization as an HR Consultant and our Interim HR Director! Tim brings with him 30+ years of HR leadership focused on helping HR teams become more effective at realizing their potential. His strengths are a great blend of coaching, people development, methodical process and strategic planning and we are pleased to have him putting those talents to use in our organization. He’ll be onsite here in Willmar every Wednesday & Thursday throughout the coming year.  Tim has already begun meeting with each team member in the Willmar office, learning about their background and gathering their input on the future plans for the HR Department.

As a result of Tim’s assessment of the Willmar team so far and our ongoing commitment to talent development, we’re also excited to announce that part of Tim’s role in this interim phase will be to coach and develop Katie Steinhaus to become our future HR Director! Tim and Katie will be working closely together throughout this transition period, along with the rest of the HR team, to optimize the level of service being provided by the HR team. As always, please continue working with your current HR team members as you have been. Riverview Tour

Riverview_01On Tuesday, May 24th, a number of employees went to tour our dairy cattle neighbor’s operation that we have a lot in common with. The name of the dairy is Riverview and they operate dairies in several different states and are the number one dairy system in the US and possibly the world! They were gracious enough to allow a large group of us to come and tour the facility and ask them a number of questions. We were able to discuss how they operate and why they do the things they do with several of their leaders. The main purpose was to see how another large, successful agriculture company operates right here in MN and around the US in a largely servant leadership style.

Welcome to MN Jake Wells

On Sunday, May 22nd, the Willmar Logistics team in Aurora, Missouri took time to recognize Global Quality Control Manager Jake Wells and his extensive contribution to the company in achieving excellence in transportation quality control. Jake is a longtime employee of Willmar Poultry Company and AgForte, previously serving in the human resources and safety administration departments. Since February 2015, Jake has served as the Global Quality Control Manager for Willmar Logistics, working out of the Central Division in Missouri. Effective June 1st, he and his wonderful family relocated to Willmar, Minnesota. Jake will continue to provide his knowledgeable leadership guidance from the North Division.
