Congratulations to Joanna Schrupp for being awarded the 2015 ‘MILO Award’ at the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s Volunteer Appreciation luncheon. The award honors volunteerism, community involvement and dedication to the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.

The annual event recognizes individuals and businesses in community leadership, volunteerism and contributions to the Willmar Lakes Area.

The MILO Award was presented to Joanna Schrupp, who oversees business development for the MinnWest Technology Campus. She has served on the YMCA Board, Chamber Board, and Grow Minnesota Committee. She also chaired the Willmar Gymnastics Booster Club, served as a mentor for young leaders in neXt and for students in the KCEO program. She has been instrumental in helping Willmar move forward in areas like economic development, according to her nomination.

2015 Chore-Time Award

PALS recently received a Silver Award from Chore-Time at their International Awards Banquet held in Atlanta Georgia January 25^th. Since nearly the beginning PALS has been a Distributor for Chore-Time items, their products have been and continue to be a cornerstone of PALS equipment business. This is the second year in a row that PALS has been recognized by Chore-Time as an Outstanding Distributor.

Affordable Care Act (ACA) Update:

For those who have been paying attention to new tax filing requirements under the ACA, the IRS now requires that employers supply tax form 1095-B to each active or former employee each tax year. Form 1095-B includes information regarding any offer of health insurance, and the enrollment or waiver of said coverage by every active or former employee, as well as information on enrolled and former dependents.

Originally, form 1095-B was due in conjunction with employee W-2s, and was required to be included with tax filings for 2015. In January, the IRS extended the deadline for employers from February 1 to March 31, 2016. Since most people will have already filed their taxes by March 31, the IRS will not require that a 1095-B be submitted with tax returns, but urges people to retain form 1095-B with their other important tax documents.
